Free Bic Lighter Scam Alert

There is an offer being posted on many free stuff sites for a free Bic lighter. The offer is hosted on the site biclighterpromo.com. I am virtually positive this is a fake offer intended to gather email addresses for spammers. If you do a domain search the details are hidden. The numerous links to the real Bic site are all broken.

After the company was contacted they confirmed that this was a bogus offer: "The "Free BIC® Luminère® Candle Lighter Offer" that was advertised on a website called biclighterpromo.com is NOT a legitimate BIC promotion". The scam site has now been takend down.

You always need to be careful about offers that are not hosted on the supposed offering company's site. When in doubt either skip the offer or, if you can't resist, be sure to use a junk email account.
