Trade, Barter, or Swap Things You No Longer Want
Monday February 19, 2007
I bet you have an item or two (or twenty) that you no longer want just sitting around gathering dust. Why not trade them for other things that you want or need? Marcy gives you eight suggestions of places you can trade or barter your stuff. Some of the places allow you to swap for free and some charge a small fee. Some of them even have lists of things people are offering to give away. Check out these Internet swap shops as you get ready for spring cleaning.
I'll add one site that Marcy didn't mention -- Craigslist offers free classifieds in many cities all over the World. Just browse to a location near you and check out the listings or post your own. Many of the cities also have a "free" or "free stuff" category.

You can also try Freecycle. There is one for most counties & cities everywhere.

Freecycle is great. I have been a member of my local one for over a yr and its easy to join and use. I have gotten some cool stuff and have gotten rid of a lot of things.
This is a site where you can list things with photos for free.

I use http://www.caretotrade.com to swap items. I’ve traded some books, antiques, and have recently listed my home for trade. It’s free.

This is a new but rapidly growing free barter site that I’ve used many times. some areas are growing faster than others, but it’s the easiest site I’ve found to use. It’s very similar to CraigsList, but devoted to swapping…enjoy!
