I've always been a cynic about growing a patio vegetable garden. It seemed to me that by the time you bought all the equipment and plants or seeds and put the work into tending the plants it was just easier to buy what you needed a the store. However, the recent surge in food prices and success stories like this one from Donna Montaldo are changing my mind.
