OnGuard Online Basic Internet Security Information from the US Government

Friday September 5, 2008
The Internet is not only useful and fun, for many of us it has become an indispensable part of our daily lives. Unfortunately, the Internet can be a dangerous place and is becoming more so all the time. Crooks and thieves try to take advantage of unprotected or naive uses constantly and sometimes easily. Your best defense is to educate yourself.

The Federal Trade Commission runs a site with lots of basic online security information and advice. It's a great place to get a good understanding of online threats and safe computing practices.
