Free Schick Quattro Titanium Razor

Sunday November 30, 2008
Have you ever wondered why companies give things away for free? It's usually not because the CEO is overly generous or because the chief financial officer thinks they have too much cash on their balance sheet. If it is a free sample that is being given away, the obvious motive is to get people to try the product in hopes they will become regular customers. The other motivation is to generate buzz. In the marketing field buzz is highly prized because it means people are talking about the product and sharing it with their friends or linking to it on the Internet.

Both of those motives also apply to the this free offer. However, for razors there is another special motive that is described by a an old saying. They are literally giving away the razors to sell the blades. Around the year 1900, another razor company, Gillette created a new kind of razor that used disposable blades. They had a hard time selling people on the idea until they realized that if they gave the razors away people would buy the blades so they could keep using their free razor.

You can request a free razor when you fill out the form.

Apparently I have requested a razor from them before, because I got a message saying “You cannot register more than once with the same e-mail address.” So I changed it to my brother’s name & e-mail address & it worked fine. (I was getting it for him, anyway.) Thanks, Lee!

I just ordered my sample. I hope it comes. With a husband in the auto industry, we are REALLY feeling the pinch.
