The Internet is a great place to find freebies, but there are times when
you may wish to have an alternate means of locating free goodies. Parents
may want to sit down with the kids and work from a book. Alternately,
you may be looking for a way to introduce someone without a computer to
the world of freebies. When you do go shopping for freebies books there
are a few things you should consider.
Freshness
Freshness may sound like more of a topic for vegetable shopping than for
book shopping, but when it comes to freebies it is just as important.
Books that share mostly money saving ideas are not as time sensitive.
If you buy a book that offers free products and has been in print for
a long time, most of the offers will be over. Try to purchase a book as
soon after it is published as possible.
Offer Availibility Promise
Some freebies books try to avoid the stale offer syndrome by making an
arrangement with those offering the freebies. Look for books where the
vendors have promised offers will be available for a year or more. This
will give you some assurance that you will have not wasted your money
on a book with outdated offers. Again, this may not be an issue with books
that concentrate on money saving ideas.
Topic Appropriateness
Many freebies books are written for a specific age group or people with
specific interests. If you are buying a book on freebies for kids, check
the age range that is being targeted. There are also books on freebies
for seniors, freebies for teachers, etc.
