The Internet is a great place to get freebies, but it's not the only place. If you keep your eyes open, and are not afraid to go get them, there are freebies to be had offline also.

The next time you take a trip to the mall, be on the lookout for free stuff. In many malls, there are frequently people handing out product samples. When you spot someone with a bag full of goodies, smiling and handing things to passers by, be sure to stroll in their direction. You can also often find specialty food stores with samples to taste. The ladies, who like to try new fragrances and makeup shades, will want to stop by their favorite beauty supply counter. Even if you they don't have any takeaway goodies, you can always try the perfume samplers or get a little touchup to your makeup job.

Speaking of food samples, many of the warehouse clubs and some grocery stores give out samples of featured products. One of the produce markets in my area almost always has samples of fruits sliced for you to try. And, don't forget to visit the bakery counter for a taste of their wares.

Whenever you make a visit to your insurance agent, accountant, or other service provider, check to see if they have any goodies to give out. My insurance agent always has some cool giveaways. On my last visit, I netted a nice flashlight, a plastic pouch for my auto insurance card, and a neat little desk calculator. Many service firms are more than happy to get these gadgets with their name on them out in the public. They know you will show them off to your friends and tell them about the great service you received.

Doctors also always have free samples of over the counter and prescription medications. On your next visit, be sure to ask if you doctor has any samples that may be appropriate for any condition you may have.

Trade shows are Nirvana for the freebies lover. There is no place on Earth where the pickings are as plentiful, and as varied, as a good trade show. Just about every community has builders' shows and the like, from time to time -- be sure to check them out.

Whether you choose to find your freebies online, offline or both -- there is no question that freebies are fun. Go have some fun and remember, the freebies are out there.
