Free Apple Camp for Ages 8 to 12

By Lee Seats, About.com

Apple retail stores offer four free workshops that are recommended for kids ages 8 to 12. You can register your child for two of the four workshops. Each workshop is two and half hours. It appears that the age range is just a suggestion and not a strict requirement.

All the workshops require a signed permission statement (available on the Web site), registration confirmation, and a parent or guardian must stay with kids under 13 for the duration of the workshop. Computers and other required materials will be available at the workshops.

Visit the Apple Camp pages and choose from the following workshops:

  • Podcast Workshop: -- for kids with intermediate to advanced computer skills.

  • iWeb Workshop -- for kids with beginner to advanced computer skills.

  • Music Workshop -- for kids with beginner to advanced computer skills.

  • Movie Workshop -- for kids with intermediate to advanced computer skills.

Campers also receive a t-shirt, patch, name tag, field guide, field journal, bumper sticker, and an acheivement certificate, and a CD or DVD with their project on it.
