When Veterans Get Their Free Food at LongHorn Steakhouse

Veterans must stop in at LongHorn Steakhouse on the actual day of Veterans Day to get their free appetizer or dessert. Veterans Day falls on Saturday, November 11, this year.

Although all locations are probably participating, I do highly recommend contacting your local LongHorn Steakhouse before heading out on Wednesday. That way, you can confirm with them that they are having this free Veterans Day offer, as well as to know the best time for coming in.

Who's Eligible for the LongHorn Steakhouse Veterans Day Free Food

Any veteran or active service member can come in to LongHorn Steakhouse on Veterans Day to get their free dessert or appetizer. This means family members, co-workers, friends, and other guests that may come with the veteran can not get the Veterans Day offer.

Note: This restriction isn't unique to LongHorn Steakhouse, but is instead completely normal for these types of Veterans Day deals — only the veteran is able to take advantage while other guests must pay the normal price for their meal.

However, if LongHorn Steakhouse is also giving out a 10% table discount, then anyone else that's splitting the check with the eligible customer is able to take part in the discount.

There are some other restrictions you should remember before heading to LongHorn Steakhouse this Veterans Day, all of which are described at the bottom of this page.

What You Need to Take With You to LongHorn Steakhouse

Restaurants that give out free Veterans Day food must be sure that their customers are in fact veterans, and this is also true for LongHorn Steakhouse.

Veterans should bring some form of identification with them on November 11 to prove that they were, or currently still are, in the military, such as by wearing their uniform or showing military ID.

See this list of frequently asked questions about Veterans Day free meals for information on how these Veterans Day offers work, including other forms of ID that you may be able to bring with you for proof of service.

LongHorn Steakhouse Veterans Day Free Food Restrictions

Remember that while Veterans Day is on November 11 every year, it falls on a Saturday in 2023. This means that the 11th is the only day you can take advantage of this free Veterans Day offer at LongHorn Steakhouse.

As is written above, only veterans can get a free dessert or appetizer on Veterans Day. Anyone else the veteran happens to bring with them to eat (family, friends, etc.) must pay the regular price for their food.

Eligible customers are only eligible if they can provide proof of military service. Anyone else who tries to get the Veterans Day free food at LongHorn Steakhouse may be turned away. If you're a veteran without military ID, be sure to call your local LongHorn Steakhouse to see if there's something else you can bring for verification.
