Free Software for VirusScan 3 or 4 Purchasers

McAfee Security has settled a class action lawsuit for VirusScan version 3 and 4 users.

The settlement entitles U.S. residents who purchased a retail version of McAfee VirusScan version 3 or version 4 to receive a free download version of their choice of one of three McAfee perpetual products:

• VirusScan version 8
• AntiSpyware version 1.0
• QuickClean version 4.01

Proof of ownership is not required, so as long as you are a US citizen and you can honestly say you purchased version 3 or version 4 of VirusScan, and are willing to waive any other legal claims about them, you can get the free software.

The free software must be downloaded by July 16, 2004.
