If you don't already see the freebie scam listed, you can fill out a form at Consumer Fraud Reporting that will let them know about the new scam and warn others about it.
2. File a Complaint With IC3
IC3, the Internet Crime Complaint Center, works with the FBI to help keep the Internet scam free.
You can file a complaint with the IC3 by giving them your contact information as well as details on the freebie scam.
3. Further Steps If Your Identity Has Been Stolen
If you've fallen for the freebie scam and are afraid that your identity or financial information may have been stolen, then immediately contact your local police, credit reporting agencies and your financial institutions to let them know.
